About Hani
Hani is a painter and image-maker. Hani has been formally trained in classical painting methods by his father from the age of five. Hani studied painting and printmaking at RMIT.
Hani is fascinated by the immediacy of the mark and tactile painterly expression. The artist exploits abstraction and is proponent to the practice of automatism. He finds strange beauty in portraying painterly gestures, disregarded or found objects within the painting surface. He is also attracted to the uncanny, and the unconventional. He is an artist whose approach takes various twists and turns, but never ends. As soon as the eye settles, it is taken on another journey into a different reality.
Artist Statement:
Isac’s painting elicits a profoundly intuitive experience of the Australian Landscape. In a time where we have all been severely restricted in our travel and freedoms, Isac believes that we can reconnect to both emotions and inspiration that we experience in nature through art.
Isac, mixes dreams and reality into an absolute reality, a “super-reality” as such. An expression of his experiences within the Australian landscape, created through our shared challenges of forced isolation. He was able to reconnect with his previous source of inspiration found in nature through his art. He found this personally transformative and as such a powerful representation of hope.
The latest paintings are complex in layers, spontaneity and are powerful in composition and colour. They are profound in freshness and originality.

Isac struggles the oppressive rules of modern society, which he believes are fuelled by over rationalism. To Isac, the source of artistic creativity comes from the unconscious mind and pure emotions. He believes that all thoughts start with feelings, and feelings are evoked by colour and composition. These are then translated to thought. His works focused on exploring notions of the irrational and the subconscious, as a means of breaking free from the rational order, and evoking pure emotion.
The artist’s role is to illuminate the wander land.
